Although female race horse trainer Gai Waterhouse rarely basks in her happiness, she is careful on not over-hyping her horse More Joyous. Waterhouse is well aware of the dangers in facing a group of male horses even though some Australian horse racing experts believe that More Joyous has overtaken Typhoon Tracy as the queen of the turf.

Waterhouse fixes her goals on races that she knows that More Joyous can win rather than the races that she dreams of winning. Waterhouse said that More Joyous is more tuned for races such as the George Main Stakes and the Epsom Handicap that she has won six times already. And though she dreams of winning the WS Cox Plate, she is setting her eyes on the Epsom Handicap and the George Main Stakes.

The weights for the 1600-metre, Group 1 Epsom Handicap that will be staged on the 2^nd of October at the Randwick Racecourse have already been released. More Joyous comes in as the top pre-race favourite with a 3.80 betting odd and it is expected that she will weigh 53.54 kilograms.

With the emergence of More Joyous, the Cox Plate landscape has a new front liner aside from Whobegotyou, Shoot Out and So You Think. After More Joyous won at the 1400-metre Sebring Sprint at the Rosehill Racecourse, jockey Corey Brown claimed that she is the best horse that he has ever controlled. For the 2010 Cox Plate, More Joyous is carrying a 10.00 betting odd.

After racing at Mooney Valley, So You Think is preparing for the Cox Plate by participating at the 1800-metre Underwood Stakes at the Caulfield Racecourse wherein he has a 4.00 betting odd. For the Underwood Stakes, Whobegotyou and Shoot Out have betting odds of 6.00 and 8.50 respectively.

Meanwhile, Whobegotyou jockey Michael Rodd said that Typhoon Tracy is not a threat on the Cox Plate due to her loss at the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes. Rodd added that Whobegotyou always edged Typhoon Tracy and the female race horse cannot defeat his horse. However, Rodd is very much threatened by the form and skill of So You Think.

Before competing in the Epsom Handicap, More Joyous will compete in either the 1400-metre Bill Ritchie Handicap or the 1600-metre George Main Stakes at the Randwick Racecourse. However, Waterhouse said that they would more likely to go to the Bill Ritchie since she will be taking weight-for-age horses in the George Main Stakes.

Waterhouse is confident that More Joyous will fare well at the Cox Plate for her grandmother is an Oaks winner and this lineage shows that she is something worth watching.
