After pulling off an upset victory the 2010 Group 1 Flight Stakes with Secret Admirer, trainer Grahame Begg is in Melbourne to make sure that Ilovethiscity will have an impressive run at the $1 million, Group 1 Caulfield Guineas. A winner of the Newcastle Spring Stakes, Ilovethiscity will tackle the race at the Caulfield Racecourse with jockey Glen Boss on board.

Begg said that things are falling into place for Ilovethiscity and he has shown much improvement from his status at the Newcastle Spring Stakes. Thus, Begg is confident that his horse will emerge on top after the mile-long race. Currently, Ilovethiscity has the second highest betting odds for the Caulfield Guineas with 4.60. Toorak Toff is the top draw and Begg knows that he is the horse to beat.

Begg said that the challenge is tougher since the Caulfield Guineas will be staged on Toorak Toff’s home turf. Meanwhile, More Joyous continues her preparation for the Cox Plate with a run at the 1600-metre, Group One Toorak Handicap at the Caulfield Racehorse. For More Joyous’ preparation, Waterhouse had her run at Flemington and she also made a run at Caulfield. She also handled a Randwick run very well.

In other news, top Caulfield Guineas favourite Toorak Toff drew the eighth barrier for the said race. Thus his betting odd went up from 4.20 to a flat 4.00. With jockey Damien Oliver on board, trainer Rick Hore-Lacy is confident that they will win the Guineas especially that Toorak Toff is in top physical condition.

Drawing the first barrier is Anacheeva that pulled off a victory over Toorak Toff at the Caulfield Guineas Prelude. Anacheeva will be guided by jockey Luke Nolen for the race and carries a betting odd of 8.00. Meanwhile, Rekindled Interest will be steered by Craig Williams and Champagne Stakes winner Skilled will not compete in the Caulfield Guineas due to an elevated temperature.
