The 2010 Newmarket Handicap is the 137^th edition of the 1200-metre, Group 1 Race at the Flemington Racecourse. Though the race has a capacity for 24 competitors, only 19 horses participated to claim the top prize from $1 million prize purse. Finishing at eleventh is race favourite All Silent which was given the top betting odds of 5.00. The 57-kilogram All Silent started from the 17^th barrier and could not make a push from the outside despite being guided by jockey Nicholas Hall.

At 12^th place is Light Fantastic with jockey Craig Newitt on board and betting odds of 26.00. Meanwhile, the Mick Price-trained Gran Sasso finished in 13^th spot despite having betting odds of 26.00. Finishing at 14^th place is Nicconi despite being guided by multi-awarded jockey Damien Oliver. The 56-kilogram Nicconi started from the 16^th barrier and he was tagged with betting odds of 17.00.

Crossing the line at 15^th spot is New Zealand thoroughbred El Segundo while Tickets and Shellscrape finished in 16^th and 17^th place respectively. American race horse Cannonball finished in 18^th while Anthony Cummings’ Five Car Stud did not finish the race.

After handily winning the $250,000 Inglis Classic at the Rosehill Racecourse, Pane In the Glass is gearing up to compete in the $1 million Blue Diamond Stakes. The filly of Nathan Tinkler remains undefeated in three career starts after dominating the 1200-metre Inglis Classic with a time of 1 minute, 10.6 seconds. Pane In the Glass won over runner-up Collestrada by 5 ¾ lengths.

Coming into the race, Pane In the Glass had a TAB SportsBet betting odds of 1.60 and it even improved to 1.26. In all her victories, Pane In the Glass was partnered by jockey Jim Byrne. Their partnership has provided wonderful results starting with a victory in a 1000-metre handicap at the Eagle Farm Racecourse and followed by a victory in the 1000-metre Inglis Nursery.

With impressive victories in his first three starts, stable representative Robyn Hartney revealed their plan to let her compete at the 2011 Blue Diamond Stakes. Meanwhile, Byrne is just appreciative of the victories that he had with Pane In the Glass and that he is honoured to be her jockey. Pane in the Glass was bought for the $32,000 at the 2010 Classic sale.

Byrne added that he has never controlled a horse like Pane in the Glass and he hopes to pilot her to more victories in races for two-year-old horses. Pane in the Glass hopes to compete well in the 1000-metre Blue Diamond Preview wherein she will test her skills with other 2011 Blue Diamond Stakes favourites such as Bossdon City and Sepoy.

Bossdon City could have participated in the Inglis Classic and give Pane in the Glass a run for her money but Bossdon City was not paid up and as a result, did not compete in the race. For the Blue Diamond Preview, Bossdon City will start from the sixth barrier on his much-anticipated debut race at Melbourne. Bossdon City is the sire of Beautiful Crown.

Meanwhile, Sepoy will once again race after a three-month absence and he will start from the second barrier of the Blue Diamond Preview. Sepoy last graced a track when he won the 1000-metre Listed Maribyrnong Stakes at the Flemington Racecourse. Another Blue Diamond Stakes favourite, the Patinack Farm-owned Boys on Tour, will start from the tenth barrier of the Blue Diamond Preview.
