The 2011 Stradbroke Handicap marks the 108th anniversary of this 1400-metre open handicap sprint race and this year’s edition will fall on the 11th of June at the Eagle Farm Racecourse. The Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap has a prize purse of $1 million and best lead-up races are the Doomben 10,000 and the QTC Cup. Sprinters and mile-long distance gallopers have the advantage on this race.

After handily winning the $250,000 Inglis Classic at the Rosehill Racecourse, Pane In the Glass is gearing up to compete in the $1 million Blue Diamond Stakes. The filly of Nathan Tinkler remains undefeated in three career starts after dominating the 1200-metre Inglis Classic with a time of 1 minute, 10.6 seconds. The 2009 Golden Slipper stakes is the first time that the race was held in Queensland. It was held in mid-April but prior to this year, the Golden Slipper Stakes was held during the Saturday before Good Friday to coincide with the Golden Slipper Carnival. Sixteen race horses and two emergencies participated in the race with Phelan Ready emerging as the winner.
