After Stanzout won for the first time over 1000 metres at Mooney Valley, trainer Colin Davies is gunning for a run at the Manikato Stakes for his stable star. The 1200-metre Manikato Stakes will run on the 24th of September and Davies was thrilled with the victory of the eight-year-old race horse in his fifth try.

The Caulfield Guineas is one of the classic Group 1 races in the Australian horse racing calendar. It is held over 1600 metres of the Caulfield racecourse every year during the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival in October. Since it is staged over set weight conditions, colts and geldings must be 55.5 kilograms while fillies must be 53.5 kilograms to compete.

Due to a surprising first-up defeat, the chances that Crystal Lily will participate in the Sydney spring racing carnival became stronger. In what is considered as a minor shift in their campaign, Crystal Lily owner David Moodie said that they are strongly eyeing a run at the Group One Golden Rose Stakes at the Rosehill racecourse on Saturday as long as the right conditions for the said horse prevail.
